DIFENDI IL LEONCAVALLO! LETTERPRESS WORKERS CHIAMANO AGRICOLTRICI E AGRICOLTORI DE LA TERRA TREMA | FIERA FEROCE
Dal 2014, al Leoncavallo Spazio Pubblico Autogestito, ha avuto luogo LETTERPRESS WORKERS: incontro annuale di tipografi e tipografe provenienti da Europa, Stati Uniti, UK, Russia, Asia Orientale, per quattro giorni di lavoro collettivo su stampa a caratteri mobili, arte grafica, illustrazione; occasione per condividere conoscenze, cultura, modi di pensare (non solo sulla tipografia).
La comunità coesa e sodale che ne è nata, al Leoncavallo, ha trovato ospitalità, motivo di confronto e riflessione, ampio spazio per la sua attitudine punk e diy. Per questo, alla notizia dell’imminente sfratto, si è mobilitata per contestare a suo modo questa eventualità e ha lanciato una campagna di sostegno alla storia cinquantennale del Leo, utilizzando il mezzo che la contraddistingue: la stampa.
Da un mese a questa parte, dunque, tipografi e tipografe da tutto il mondo stanno producendo il loro personale messaggio contro questo sfratto, a sostegno di un luogo che in questi decenni ha ospitato e dato lustro al lavoro di artiste/i, agricoltrici/tori, tipografe/i, writer, serigrafe/i, musiciste/i, dj, teatranti, sportivi, bikepoliste/i, ballerine/i, bande. Un messaggio a caratteri mobili, unico, materiale, artigianale, un’unica tesi: «LEONCAVALLO, 50 YEARS MORE!»
Proprio in questi giorni, alcune delle cartoline prodotte arriveranno, con L’ALMANACCO, all’indirizzo delle agricoltrici e degli agricoltori, delle persone che da anni animano La Terra Trema. Altre ne arriveranno con il prossimo numero, il primo per la nuova annata.
In continuità con la natura comunarda di LPW, il dialogo si apre alle agricolture e alle pratiche della Fiera Feroce per mandare questo messaggio collettivo a sindaco e prefetto.

Since 2014, LETTERPRESS WORKERS has taken place at Leoncavallo Spazio Pubblico Autogestito: an annual meeting of typographers from Europe, United States, UK, Russia, East Asia, for four days of collective work on type printing, graphic art, illustration; opportunity to share knowledge, culture, ways of thinking (not just about typography).
The cohesive and supportive community that was born, at Leoncavallo found hospitality, a reason for comparison and reflection, ample space for its punk and DIY attitude. For this reason, upon hearing the news of the imminent eviction, it mobilized to contest this eventuality in its own way and launched a campaign to support Leo’s fifty-year history, using the medium that distinguishes it: the press.
For a month now, therefore, printers from all over the world are producing their personal message against this eviction, in support of a place that in recent decades hosted and prestige to gave the work of artists, farmers, printers, musicians, DJs, actors, writers, bikers, dancers, bands. A message in movable type, unique, material, artisanal, a single thesis: «LEONCAVALLO, 50 YEARS MORE!»
Precisely in these days, some of the postcards produced will arrive, with the magazine L’ALMANACCO, to the farmers, people who animated LA TERRA TREMA for years. More will come with the next issue, the first for the new year.
In continuity with the communal nature of LPW, the dialogue opens up to the agriculture and practices of the Fiera Feroce to send this collective message to the mayor and prefect.
